January 17, 2017- Tudo posso naquele que me fortalece!

Well now that I spent so much time sending pics to everyone I don't have a lot of time so I will write quick.

We had a great week! It was another week full of mini miracles. Obviously the highlight of the week was Diana´s baptism. She really was a golden referral! When we were teaching her it all just went so smoothly! We had a brother in our ward do the baptism. His family are converts for about 8 months, so it was his first baptism. He was excited, and really nervous. In the end it went well, and she was well received in the ward.

My new ward is pretty great. It is one of the oldest of my mission, I think Grandpa said he remembers when they opened this ward here in Penha. There is a lot of work to be done 'here and I am willing to do it. The ward was pretty happy to see a baptism. It has been several months since they have had one here, I guess the ward had some pretty rough missionaries, because they are really happy with my comp and I. I am working hard and we trying to help our zone, everything is going well.

Other than that, we don't have any other BIG news, and I am short on time so I got to go, but just know that all is well and I am doing great.

Love you,

Jzanuary 9, 2017

Hey Fam!
Well we had another great week here in the worlds best mission.
These weeks are so long and pass by so fast that I just don't even remember what has happened.
I will try and remember a few highlights.

Earlier this week we had a difficulty with a missionary in the zone that is pretty upset about life, so we had to do a rescue mission for him. We had splits with them and he is a new american that is having a really hard time in the mission, so I spent the day with him trying to get him refocused on the work. I spent all day just trying to break his shell and make him happy and laugh a little because he is having a lot of problems with depression. Finally at the end of the day I opened him up a little bit and he started smiling. Then at night when we got home we sat down and had some serious time. We had some spiritual moments when I could really feel the spirit guiding my words to help and encourage him. I tried to help him feel the love of Christ and I think our conversation went really well.
The rest of the week was great. I really like my new comp. I swear he is the Brazilian version of Austin. I am always telling him stories about Austin and all the things we did together.  This week we had a lot of mini miracles, we met a lot of people that have a lot of potential. We will have a baptism this week! Her name is Diana. She was a great miracle. She moved in with a member family and when we were teaching her she just popped out and says that she wants to be baptized. So that was a great blessing that God gave us this week. I will let you know how it works out next week!
The work seems like it is going pretty good. We are working hard, but these last few weeks have been a little rough with everyone traveling and burning hot sun. Everyday it is about 30 or 35 degrees Celsius. I don't know how it is in Fahrenheit but it is freakin' hot.
To finish up; we are working hard and God is pouring blessings upon us. Life is great and time is flying by! This week has been really spiritual for me and I hope that we can all keep having spiritual experiences in 2017!!!!
Love you!

Hey Fam!!

As far as missionary work goes this week was pretty bad. Nobody was home, so we weren't really able to do much. We had transfers on Tuesday so I had to spend the whole day running around the subway stations trying to help everyone get to where they needed to be.

This week we just visited a few people trying to help out some members. We went to the Bishops house for the new years. It was good because I was able to talk with him for a while and share some of my plans for the area. The Bishop's family sure liked us a lot. We ate a lot of food and it was a good time.

I was also called to speak in church this week. It went really well. Everyone was asking where I am from because my name, accent, and look, all say 3 different places.

I am really liking my new area. It seems like a great ward that has just had a really hard time with the missionaries in the past, so they are just needing a lot of help. My new comp is Elder Amâncio. He is from Acre. I like him a lot, he reminds me so much of Austin. He is a cowboy and before the mission he loved rodeo, cows, horses, and that type of stuff. He is a good kid, and we will get along great.

That's all for this week!

December 26, 2016

Hey so I am getting transferred I am going to Penha. I will continue being a zone leader and my companion will be Elder Amancio.
I had a great Christmas with a great family here in Limoeiro, but sadly I will leave tomorrow. I didn't stay here very long, but I really did like it here. I am pretty upset to leave, but I have to trust that the LORD knows all things. I really am shocked that I am leaving because I felt like we were doing some good work here, but President is the one that receives revelation for this mission, not I.  Anyways It sure was great talking with everyone yesterday. I was really needing a fresh start. I thought that it went pretty well and it is crazy that I have already made 3 calls home!!!

Thanks so much for everything mom all is well. Love you.
